Dude Claims Bringing Dogs To Public Places Is 'Attention Seeking:' Redditors Tear Claim Apart

Doggo owners and appreciators alike know that having a dog is an incredibly wonderful experience! You get to bond with a delightful four-legged canine companion, raise him or her (if adopted as a puppy or at a young age) and build a fulfilling life together, what could be better? You love your doggo so much that you even want to take him or her with you to all public places that are dog friendly, because why not, you can.

The animal-toting Karens of the world are giving the regular animal-toting people a bad image, after writing about multiple Karen-centered disturbing animal events, we understand why people would be hesitant to accept dogs or other pets in public places. BUT- speaking on behalf of the normal and sane people around the world, bringing a dog to a public place is NOT attention-seeking. There are a number of totally legitimate reasons why dog owners would bring their fluffy pals along with them. Let's hear what the Redditors had to say on the matter.

    Font - It's a dog, we get it. Literally no reason to bring a dog into Home Depot, etc, other than to attract attention to yourself. (Except if it's a service dog. NOT an emotional support dog/pet)

    Font - Edit: WOW, this really blew up more than I expected. Thanks for all the awards! I read most of the comments and most of you who disagreed are devoted dog/pet owners, which I am not. I appreciate everyone's admiration and treatment of their pets. Side note, when I was visiting Germany, dogs were allowed EVERYWHERE except grocery stores. Restaurants, book store, etc.

    Font - DraftLevel28 · 2 days ago When I was a cashier, I had a woman come in bouncing and cooing her "baby" bundled up in a blanket. As I'm finishing up, I happen to turn and see a BIG, dirty puppy (did it roll in a puddle before coming in?!) standing on the bag stand while the woman is shaking out the hair blanket. All I said was "really?! remove the dog, now!" Then I had to scrub the stand. So frustrating!

    Font - Beeker93 · 2 days ago I would be against bringing a dog into a place that serves food unless it is a genuine service dog. Aside from that, much of that goes under ability to control your animal (and clean up after it). Hardware and tool store doesn't seem to be an issue though. In Germany I was suprised how often you would see someone bring their dog into a resteraunt. But every last 1 was well trained and would sit under the table quietly. I've brought mine into HD many times instead of leaving them in the car and they enjoyed walking around and I enjoyed then being with me. Nobody really paid us any mind and I'm only there to get what I need and go, not there for conversation. I just enjoy being with my dog and HD is fine with having your dogs in the store. I don't take them with the intentions of bringing them shopping with me... they are big and they do get attention.. it's much easier without them I also know people that bring dogs to pet friendly places to help with training

He was a mini dachshund and we would just put his blanket in the little seat in our cart and he would sit there and watch the people.
